ONGOING PROJECTS

The main objective of this division is to advance the knowledge and research and development in the field of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

The division will focus in the following area of research:

  1. Aeroallergens
  2. Food Allergens
  3. Occupational Allergy
  4. Quality Control of Allergens

Ongoing Research Projects

The centre running research projects, which are funded by different government organization, are:

1.

To support resource centre for tobacco control for expansion of tobacco services at state/district level (Funded by World Health Organisation).

Indoor Air Pollution and asthma exacerbation in children: A Population based Study.

   
3.

Genetic Association study of Polymorphisms related to chronic obstructive Pulmonary Disease and its measures in north Indian population: COPD Genetics Consortium –Multicentre Project (Funded by Deptt. of Biotechnology, New Delhi).

   
4.
To study the prevalence of Obstructive Sleep Apnea amongst middle aged Chronic Obstructive Airway patients by a home based sleep study and its relation to Atopy (Funded by University Grant Commission).
   
5.
Effects of Steroids on Peripheral Skin Thickness Assessed by Ultrasound in Patients of Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Other Respiratory Diseases.
   
6. Measurement of Exhaled Nitric Oxide in Normal, Atopic and Asthmatic Children.

Clinico-Immunologic Studies on Allergen Specific Sub Lingual Immunotherapy in patients of Respiratory Allergy.

To Study Food Allergy and Food Intolerance in Patients of Bronchial Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD).

Study”

Surveillance of Khanpur, Ilechipur and Harampur Village near Tronika city, Loni, Ghaziabad (UP) by Dr. VK Vijayan, Director, VP Chest Institute, Delhi & Dr. Raj Kumar, Head, National Center of Respiratory, Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (NCRAAI) with research team and Village Pradhan on 17/05/2011.

Works going in Khanpur, Ilechipur and Harampur Village under the research project entitle “Respiratory Allergy, Air Pollution and Lung Health”.

Before starting the project village Pradhan Shri Jagat Singh; Shri Baleswar Singh, Shri Selak Ram, and people’s from Village - Khanpur, Harampur & Ilichipur visited the VP Chest Institute, Delhi.
